Subject: RE: [Pwrrm] Reactivity Management Standards

Who performs the 1/M during approach to crit?  Operators or REs?

A Plant Computer function provides continuous 1/M monitoring that the REs are responsible for monitoring.

Are the RE's an integral member of the team or in an oversite role
   (review ECCs and 1/M's)?

REs are integral.  We perform the ECCs and monitor 1/M.

Who performs the ECC (ECP), RE or the STA or the SRO?

The Reactor Engineers perform the ECC and SROs provide review.

Who reviews the ECC, (ECP), RE or the STA or the SRO?

SRO reviews the ECC.  An RE reviews the B-10 and Xe input to the ECC.

How many people HAVE to review the ECC?

An RE HAS to review the B-10 and Xe code outputs.  An SRO HAS to review and approve the ECC itself.

Does Ops assign a reactivity management SRO to major reactivity changes
(SU, maneuver up and down, 75% and back to 100%????

Yes.  We call that SRO a "dedicated" SRO.

Are all Rx start ups IPTE's (Infrequently Performed Test or Evolutions)?

No.  Only startups following a refueling outage are considered infrequent tests.

How many plants have pre-developed reactivity plans (ReMA's) in the
   control room for rapid downpowers?

We have generic pre-developed reactivity plans for expedient power reductions from full power to 75%, 50% and 0% power.

   How often are they updated?

They are updated every ~2000 MWD/MTU.

Are recurring work orders "flagged" electronically to alert the
operators to evolutions that may impact reactivity management?

        Yes

Does RE and Ops meet after RM evolutions for a post job critique?

Not typically.  Operations is provided a feedback form with every reactivity management plan.  That feedback form is used to provide critique to Reactor Engineering.

If so, for all power maneuvers, only major ones (i.e. 0-100%)???

All reactivity management plans are transmitted with a feedback form.

Reactor Engineers

I have a major Integration effort coming up for Dominion in regard to reactivity management.

Some general questions on Common Standards that we all use.  Please let me know what folks do for the following

Who performs the 1/M during approach to crit?  Operators or REs?
Are the RE's an integral member of the team or in an oversite role
   (review ECCs and 1/M's)?
Who performs the ECC (ECP), RE or the STA or the SRO?
Who reviews the ECC, (ECP), RE or the STA or the SRO?
How many people HAVE to review the ECC?
Does Ops assign a reactivity management SRO to major reactivity changes
(SU, maneuver up and down, 75% and back to 100%????
Are all Rx start ups IPTE's (Infrequently Performed Test or Evolutions)?
How many plants have pre-developed reactivity plans (ReMA's) in the
   control room for rapid downpowers?
   How often are they updated?
Are recurring work orders "flagged" electronically to alert the
operators to evolutions that may impact reactivity management?
Does RE and Ops meet after RM evolutions for a post job critique?
If so, for all power maneuvers, only major ones (i.e. 0-100%)???

Thanks in advance for your help in this regard.  I will gladly share all info with you once I compile it.
