At Oconee Nuclear Station we did a specific evaluation that looked at all RxE hands-on work and where RxE could be directing or perceived as directing covered work and concluded that RxE do not perform covered work activities and are therefore not covered workers.  I’ve attached the matrix we used to make that determination.

Duke had published a system list which indicated which systems were considered high safety significance for use in making such determinations.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [Pwrrm] New Work Hour Rules

FCS has implemented the new work hour rules such that Reactor Engineers are covered workers. Are Reactor Engineers at other plants considered covered workers?

A quick response would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
