Water Clarity and Lighting Standards for Core Inspections

Does your station have water clarity or lighting standards for core inspections? (FOSARs, alignment checks, ID verifications, etc.) At Oconee Nuclear Station we only have qualitative standards (procedure and PJB directs the inspector to ensure there is adequate clarity and lighting). Carl, Here is the standard we use for moving fuel. There are no standards for FOSAR or inspection related activities, unless we are moving fuel. "Water clarity is sufficient, under lighted conditions, to observe the top of a fuel assembly for possible obstructions or debris, in the following locations: * Spent Fuel Pool * Transfer Canal * Reactor Cavity" J. Our procedure states for offload, we need to see the top nozzles and for reload we need to see the alignement pins on the lower core plate. We have no stated clarity requirements for FOSAR or fuel inspections. Paul V.
