Subject: FHS SRO Responsibilities

Question for all PWR plants:

It should be standard that a (Fuel Handling Supervisor) FHS/SRO is in charge and oversees all nuclear fuel movements in the Spent Fuel Pool (SFP).

We don’t always have an FHS/SRO present during fuel movements in the SFP as it is always done by two personnel who peer check each other.

Two questions:

1.      Do you require your FHS/SRO to oversee "Insert Shuffl2s" in the SFP during the outage?  NO

2.      Do you require your FHS/SRO to oversee all movements of equipment in the SFP, such as:

§         Debris/Trash baskets                             NO

§         TOP Nozzle Baskets                              NO

§         Dummy assemblies                               NO

§         WABAs                                                NO

§         BPRAs                                                 NO

§         RCCAs                                                 NO

§         Olds Fission Chambers                          N/A

§         Old filters from a vacuum / Tri-Nuk           NO

§         Casks for fuel shipments                        N/A

§         Casks for other shipments                      NO

§         Hicks for radWaste Shipments                NO

§         Others                                                  NO
