VC Summer Tech Specs only require an SRO for ‘Core Alterations’, but procedures require an SRO in the FHB when fuel or components are being handled.

Question for all PWR plants:

It should be standard that a (Fuel Handling Supervisor) FHS/SRO is incharge and oversees all nuclear fuel movements in the Spent Fuel Pool (SFP).

Two questions:

1. Do you require your FHS/SRO to oversee "Insert Shuffels" in the SFP during the outage?  Yes
2. Do you require your FHS/SRO to oversee all movements of equipment in the SFP, such as:
• Debris/Trash baskets   NO
• TOP Nozzel Baskets  NO
• Dummy assemblies    YES
• WABAs  YES
• BPRAs   YES
• RCCAs   YES
• Olds Fission Chambers  NO
• Old filters from a vacuum / Tri-Nuk  NO
• Casks for fuel shipments  YES (for loading the cask)
• Casks for other shipments  NO
• Hicks for radWaste Shipments  NO
• Others YES or NO
