Hugh,
Responses from Seabrook.
Who performs the 1/M during approach to crit? Operators or REs?
RE performs the 1/M. However, an Operator typically performs a backup 1/M.
Are the RE's an integral member of the team or in an oversite role (review ECCs and 1/M's)?
Integral member
Who performs the ECC (ECP), RE or the STA or the SRO?
RE performs the ECP calculation.
Who reviews the ECC, (ECP), RE or the STA or the SRO?
Independent review is performed by another RE.
How many people HAVE to review the ECC?
Shift Manager approves the ECP. Ops procedure requires a second ECP to be calculated by a License holder to validate the one approved for use.
Does Ops assign a reactivity management SRO to major reactivity changes (SU, maneuver up and down, 75% and back to 100%????
No.
Are all Rx start ups IPTE's (Infrequently Performed Test or Evolutions)?
No.
How many plants have pre-developed reactivity plans (ReMA's) in the control room for rapid downpowers?
Yes.
How often are they updated?
Monthly
Are recurring work orders "flagged" electronically to alert the operators to evolutions that may impact reactivity management?
In theory yes, but we need to make some improvements in this particular aspect.
Does RE and Ops meet after RM evolutions for a post job critique? If so, for all power maneuvers, only major ones (i.e. 0-100%)???
Typically not.
