Action Levels - Based upon Noble Gas Data
Joe, here’s
Exelon’s procedure for BWR and PWR. Erich Wurz may be able to
answer this better for our PWR’s.

Subject: [Respvr] Failed Fuel
Action Levels - Based upon Noble Gas Data
Our current FFAP utilizes historic
values of coolant activity and dose equivalent iodine. Because of our history
with failed fuel (early 2000’s) and our current status over the last 5
cycles (No fuel failures), the values we use for determining action levels are
now non-conservative.
1. Do you utilize noble gas values
for FFAP action levels ?
2. If yes what are your levels ?
Have they been effective ?
3. Can you provide a contact to
discuss noble gas values
4. If no, what do you use?
5. Are you considering noble gas
values?
