South Texas is contemplating performing zinc injection to reduce crud and doses. However, as a high duty plant, we are also worried about kicking off CIPS/AOA. Up to now, we have not had this phenomenon - and I'd like to stay away from it.
I would like to get the reactor engineers' take on
(1) your opinion on zinc injection v CIPS
(2) if your plant has performed Zn injection,
a. what consideration was given to potential CIPS issues?
b. what has been your experience with the core?
(3) If your plant has decided not to pursue Zn injection, what were the reasons (was CIPS a factor)?
Thank you for your response.
